Project Name: PMKVY 2.0: Special Project

Client Name: Maharashtra State Skill Development Society

Descriptions

The Maharashtra Agri-Skilling Program is a Special Project under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2.0, implemented successfully by SIMACES Learning LLP. The project was designed to provide short-term skill training to unemployed youth and aspiring entrepreneurs in Maharashtra’s agriculture sector. Through a structured training approach, the program aimed to certify participants, enhancing their employability and fostering entrepreneurship within the agriculture sector.

Project Execution

  • SIMACES Learning LLP conducted a thorough survey of over 180 agriculture institutions across Maharashtra. Institutions were assessed based on classroom facilities, laboratory setups, teaching aids, infrastructure quality, accessibility, and support services. The selected institutions were then aligned with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) standards, which involved upgrading infrastructure and teaching capabilities to meet certification requirements as “SMART Centres.”
  • In collaboration with the Agriculture Sector Skill Council of India, SIMACES Learning LLP developed and approved course content for various job roles in agriculture. The training material was designed to be comprehensive and job-oriented, ensuring that participants would be well-prepared for industry demands.
  • The training programs were structured over 2-3 months and divided into batches across nine specific job roles, including Agriculture Extension Service Provider, Dairy Farmer/Entrepreneur, Greenhouse Operator, Micro Irrigation Technician, Organic Grower, Quality Seed Grower, Seed Processing Worker, Small Poultry Farmer, and Tractor Operator. To equip beneficiaries for the evolving agricultural landscape, the project also included training in digital literacy and financial management. Participants acquired essential skills in using digital tools and managing finances effectively. In addition, they received 40 hours of soft skills training and 15 hours of digital literacy training
  • The project provided support for job placements and entrepreneurship initiatives, facilitating the transition of participants into the workforce or helping them start their own agricultural ventures.

Outcomes

  • 3,720 mobilised and 3,354 youths trained
  • 84 SMART Centres (Agriculture Institutes) established across 24 districts
  • Successful delivery of 115 training batches
  • Comprehensive skill development including digital and financial literacy

Client Name: Maharashtra State Skill Development Society

Project Objective

The training and certification of farmers have contributed to improved farming practices and increased income potential, fostering a positive change in the agricultural community across Maharashtra. The project was designed to train and certify beneficiaries on the job role of “Group Farming Practitioner,” with a structured training program that included a 3-day orientation at the circle level followed by an 8-week bridge program at the village level.

Majorly the objectives have two outcomes: 

  • Increase income for small-scale farmers.
  • Encourage farmers to undertake group farming.

Project Execution

  1. Enrolment and Training: SIMACES Learning LLP successfully enrolled and trained 345,142 beneficiaries across 23 districts of Maharashtra. Training sessions were conducted at village locations, ensuring easy accessibility for all participants.
  2. Training Program Development: A comprehensive training program was developed, covering essential topics such as:

  3. Certification Process: Upon completion of the training, participants underwent assessments to evaluate their skills and understanding. Only those who passed were awarded the certification for “Group Farming Practitioner.”

Outcomes

A total of 7,439 Batches were successfully executed, maintaining high-quality standards and efficient operations throughout the project. The project led to the certification of 281,541 beneficiaries as “Group Farming Practitioners,” significantly impacting the agricultural sector in Maharashtra. The skills and knowledge acquired through the training are expected to enhance farming practices and boost productivity in the region.

Client Name: Groundwater Surveys & Development Agency (GSDA), Water Supply and Sanitation Department (WSSD), Government of Maharashtra

Project Objective

As one of SIMACES Learning LLP’s flagship projects, the Atal Bhujal Yojana training program was meticulously designed to empower local stakeholders in sustainable groundwater management at the Gram Panchayat level. This initiative covered 1,133 Gram Panchayats across 43 Talukas in 13 districts of Maharashtra.
